These are some of the tools used to see the soil profile. The horizons (layers) in the soil. It includes a soil probe, Dutch auger, and till shovel.

    I looked online for a pogo stick style soil probe like you have and couldn't find one anywhere. They all have 1 step... which seems kind of silly.

    Can you tell us what brand of sampler you are using here and where you got it?

  • @ytoobpg Hi, I made it myself. I did price it out to have one made and it was over $1000. at a local machine shop. I have three of these, they're not hard to make, its just getting the material that'll get you. I use very high strength stainless steel tubing that I get from the oil industry. I wouldn't use just any pipe, you're cutting it in half, then jumping on it. A snapped probe could turn very ugly...

  • @blunosr haha... figures! want to do something right, need to do it yourself! With some legwork, I discovered that AMS makes a custom two-step for $178, but they don't look quite as hefty as yours. Thanks for the info!
