Mgarr Malta: Festa Santa Marija 2010 - Irkant ghall-Vara (auction Santa Marija procession)

lejlamgarrija.com As per tradition, the annual auction to carry in procession the titular statue of Saint Mary, was held in Mgarr at noon, precisely. This year, the winning bid was above eight thousand euros by Kevin Vella, after four bidders were in the running for quite some time (usually the majority of bidders withdraw after the first couple of rounds). There were four groups participating in this year's bidding, family Vella (Halman), Kevin Vella, Tal-Ahmar and Charles il-Perkins for Zebbiegh group, who had won last year. This is raw, unedited footage. A proper, edited version will be made available later on. A DVD of the Santa Marija 2010 activities will be available from the committee members.
