Taraneh's is not the first allegation of brutal raping of a post-election protester -- according to the UK Guardian, an 18 year old boy in Shiraz was repeatedly gang raped by prison officials while in detention after being arrested for participating in the protests on June 15. That boy's father won't let him come back home.

Shahram Azam, a former staff physician in Iran's Defence Ministry said he examined Kazemi in hospital, 4 days after her arrest.

Azam said Kazemi showed obvious signs of torture, including:

-Evidence of a very brutal rape.

-A skull fracture, two broken fingers, missing fingernails, a crushed big toe and a broken nose.

-Severe abdominal bruising, swelling behind the head and a bruised shoulder.

Iran's Karoubi says some detainees raped in jail

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's defeated presidential candidate Mehdi Karoubi said some of those detained after the country's disputed June presidential vote had been raped in detention, according to his website on Sunday.

"Some senior officials told me that ... really shameful issues ... Some young male detainees were raped ... also some young female detainees were raped in a way that have caused serious injuries,"
