One area of your body that you MUST work out (especially if you spend all day sitting at a desk in front of a computer) is your back.

Here's why:

1) A well developed upper back will improve the way you look (whether you're a man or a woman). This is because working out your upper back will improve your posture, which will give your body a sleeker, leaner shape.

2) When you're sitting hunched over in front of your computer all day, your back muscles get weak because they're hardly ever used. By working your back out, you'll correct this problem and avoid any muscle imbalances which can lead to shoulder pain and injuries over the long term if left unfixed.

So here's a micro workout for your back that can be done at your desk in less than 2 minutes:

1) Table rows: 15s
2) Y squats: 15s
3) Scap Wall Slides: 15s
4) Exercise Band Rows: 15s

Total workout time: 1 minute (plus some time spent changing over between exercises).

Do you think you can do this little workout every time you have a minute to spare during your day? I bet you can. Do this 5-15 times a day and watch your back strength and appearance (and shoulder health) improve dramatically!

  • @phileustace LOL! Nice

  • i have bad shoulders because when i was 8 - 13 years old i had a really heavy school bag for my age but when i started high school I made sure to clean out my bag every month so im not carrying to much weight. But i have hunched shoulders now. im still in my puberty age so i know i can still get straight shoulder's/ back. will these exercises help me do that?

  • These exercises will definitely help to some degree, but you will get the most benefit from bigger exercises like rows, chinups and deadlift.

If you focus on pulling exercises and also put some time into stretching out your chest and hip flexors you should see some improvement.

That's actually a great idea for a new video - I will make one for you soon showing you how to fix your posture.

  • Because i weigh more than my ideal weight when I try to do push-ups my wrist joints get tired before my arm muscles. The same goes for leg presses, my knee joints start to hurt before my muscles start to get tired. Is there an way I could strengthen these joints?

  • Well you can do pushups while resting your hands on dumbells to ease the strain on your wrists, and that will probably help with that.

As for leg presses, I would recommend that you DON'T do that exercise anymore, especially if it makes your knee joints hurt. Those joints should NEVER hurt.

Do deadlifts and squats instead, but make sure you use good form and don't strain your knees.

  • A home remedy that works. Buy a tennis ball for 90 cents. Cut it in half using a knife. Then insert each half sphere (cone up) in the heel area of your shoe. You will gain as much shock absorption than your entire body weight 4 times over. I had chronic back pain for years but after using the half tennis ball technique I have no more back pain and I dont have to waste my money on shonky chiropractors and unqualified swindlers !!

  • who the fuck would do this at work!?!? O.o

  • @phileustace - LMFAO!!! You're so right - You can't do those moves at work!

  • TKANK YOU!!! I have been getting numb hand in the night because my upper back is getting so week from sitting job.
