Platinum Dunes is supposedly remaking this film. Just google Nightmare on elm street remake and you'll get plenty of news on it.

Freddy is a fucking character unlike Jason, Leatherface, or Michael Myers, who can generally be replaced with any hulkling stunt coordinator. Robert Englund is Freddy Krueger and Freddy Krueger is Robert Englund. He is going to be a shit character without such great character actor.

Robert made Freddy to what he is today.Freddy is not like Michael or Jason who you can replace because they never talk they just kill Freddy has a personality he talks, and taunts you. Everyone knows Robert Englund as Freddy. The first thing that comes to mind when you hear or see Robert Englund is Freddy.

Hollywood studio's are such pieces of shit now that they'll probably end up CGing Freddy to save money. I say fuck remaking perfectly good movies but if Hollywood has to kill em' listen to the fans and understand there needs.

Robert Englund is known for an aray of on and off screen features, but to me, he will always be Freddy Kruger. If you put somebody else in his place it will be like all the batman sequels, or like the halloween films, nobody remembering who played the character in the films. We horror film fans love to keep are origanal demons who they are because Robert Englund will always be freddy. Be carefull the last person that remade a legendary character died from an overdose!!! There probably won't even be another movie.The script isn't even finished?Usually if these projects aren't moving faster they never get done.There was supposed to be a movie based on The Talisman by Stephen King & Peter Straub back in the 80s.They even started advertising it and still to this day there is no Talisman movie. The rights to it are still paid for after all these years and there's not even a script for it!

Many of you seem to think Billy Bob Thornton is going to take over the role, but that is just a rumor that spread over the net. Nobody has been cast in any role in this film because the script isn't even finished yet.

Thanks for all your support on this guys! The petition now has over 1,000 signatures and i will be sending it off soon. It isn't the fact they are remaking this alone, it is the fact that they are replacing Robert Englund as Freddy at this time. The timing is bad. Robert could still play a good Freddy one last time at least. He played him just 5 years ago in Freddy Vs Jason and chances are they will find another actor who is old to replace him anyway.
