  • @MrHotrodlincoln i have a trailblazer ss all wheel drive with a few mods and a 3200 circle d stall and it drives almost like stock. if you never drove the truck you would think it was stock. it droped my 0-60 times and now sub 5 second 0-60s with a 5200lbs suv on 20" rims and not much more then stall, cai and superchip. 1.8 60fts as well rite off the street. 1.7 with removing the hitch, tools, spare tire and jack. the best mod u can do imo.

  • @ashtrey05 You should be able to get your 2011 to produce those sorts of numbers pretty quick. It's actually pretty amazing what the new Ecoboost is capable of. I saw a mild 2011 at the track about 3 weeks ago with just a tune and cold air intake and he ran a 14.18 1/4 mile time with no spare tire and the rear tailgate removed LOL

  • @ashtrey05 Exactly. Locking converters and converters in general have come a long way with proper tuning especially. My car goes into lock-up around 35-40 mph in the city purposely to save on gas mileage. Typically I travel around town with the overdrive off to keep the transmission from jogging in and out of overdrive. I agree with you about the towing. I run a 40,000#gvw transmission cooler to keep my temperatures normal. Very impressive 0-60 for your truck. My Lincoln is at 4.8 seconds

  • @MrHotrodlincoln this is especially true on newer cars that have the ability to "lock" the converter. So just driving around in the city normally, it will drive very similar to stock. At least this was the situation on my 2005 F150. 80% tq at 2500 RPM with peak at 3500-4500 RPM. I had installed a ~3000 stall. I still towed with this truck so I didnt want to go crazy with super high revs when I had to tow. 0-60 @ 5.2 seconds.

  • @bortous Yeah, I've tried to teach "converter professionals" that a higher stall converter is perfectly streetable and they don't believe me. You're just another doubter. I know so many guys running stalls well over 3000 stall and they are all just driving them every day like it aint no thing but a chicken wing. The lower torque of the DOHC engine in the Mark VIIIs has MANY running 3500+ stall converters including myself and driving them to work every day. Aint no thing but a chicken wing.

  • @MrHotrodlincoln I appreciate the sarcasm. thank you very much.

Sounds like you know what you are doing. May I ask how much power you are running?

A 4000rpm converter is too big for the street. I currently have a 3500 converter on my vehicle which drives very well but has been built to my exact specifications. Maybe you can teach me a thing or two?

    lol

  • @bortous Hey Mr. Engineer lol I have a 3800 stall Circle D in my car. It's a daily driver until winter. I'm running a stock transmission with a separator plate mod and a large transmission cooler and have NO issues with heat or driveability. It actually drives pretty stock until I get onto the throttle. A 3000 stall converter for the street is just gay and full of nothingness just like that 03 Stang GT that got his ass handed to him by a 4000# Lincoln. Maybe he has a 3000 stall. :-P

  • man i really dig your truck, very nice. what does run at the track??

  • @chevytruck123 If your absolutely sure 2800 is the beginning of ur peak power band, a 2500rpm converter is perfect for it. Always best to get it a few hundred rpm below:)

  • @bortous Peak torque is @2800 rpm.?
