This is a short test on 30m radio amateur band. I was wondering what is the lowest power I can hear myself back from more than 1000km. The receiver station was in the Netherlands, at JO32KF. This is a websdr station. My transmitter was a Yaesu FT-707, the antenna was a 4 meter fishing rod, with some copper wire on it, mounted on the balcony of my flat, located at JN97NL. The power meter shows the current output power. First I started with 1W, and decreased the power to about 0.5W. My signals can be heard clearly from 1000km away.

At the right side there is a 4 meter long fishing rod, with a simple wire on it. It was used for this demonstration. I can tune it with the FC-707 tuner on 30-10m bands.

The other antenna on the left side is a helically wounded short (2.5m long) antenna for 80m band. WIth the tuner it also can be used on 40m.
