Step 1: putting together a TEAM

This video is intended to help you organize your own unwanted household pharmaceutical collection event. Our local group, the Coalition for Safe Medication Disposal, held our first collection event seven months ago on March 6th, 2010. We relied heavily on advice and materials from others who had already done them. I suppose that we are passing on that good will by sharing what we have learned.

We held our first collection on March 6, 2010. In six hours we received material from at least 509 households, collecting more than 1700 pounds of medications. Tomorrow, October 16, 2010 will be our second event. We will film it so you will get to see one effective way they can be staged.
