@FretboardToAsh Ah no his other versions are better. You can never fault him for effort, but he aged quickly and the voice here isn't what it was. His health was declining- I think this was shortly before his first operation on the brain tumour. Still the most wonderfully powerful singer I've ever heard
@Armunk It was 1979 apparently. Luke's health had already started to decline by then, but he hadn't yet been diagnosed with brain cancer (that only happened after he collapsed on stage in 1980). He certainly wore that yellow shirt a lot during his last 4 years "among us"...
Looks like around 1983 and Luke would have been severly troubles by his brain tumors but kept performing. During Auld Triangle he covers his ear to gain better feeling of his voice in the vocal harmonies i think. Great videos
@Nugget12421 Thanks. I was almost sure but I thought I'd misheard. It keeps on coming up...heh. Peculiar, as Lukey himself might say. What's the matter with him?

That has to be the best version of The Auld Triangle I've heard thus far.

Thanks tallowmanirish
This concert appears to be 1979 or 1980. Always hard to figure out.
1980 according to a video thecelt01 has uploaded.
thecelt01 has a 33 second clip of: Luke Kelly - Town I Loved So Well
The Dubliners have the exact same clothing on in that clip as they have on in this video.
I wish the Ar Stáitse archives were 1-hour long instead of a half hour to include more songs.
The full version of The Town I Loved So Well would have been great.
