Hard to categorise this one - is it pop or psych or what? Whatever the conclusion, it's an enjoyable piece from 1967 that sounds like the sort of stuff the Small Faces might have done as an album track. Issued in the UK on Deram.
I went to school in Croydon with Viv Lythgoe who was one half of this duo. The other was Terry, who was the bass player in The Overlanders when they recorded "Michelle".
We used to play in a band called The Roosters for a while.
It's pure POPSIKE man ! :)
I have the single as well

This is Toytown Pop. And a brilliant example at that. Dixieland band invaded by crazed piccolo, sitary acoustic guitar riff, great harmonies -- wow!

I meant to add, the co-writers of this were Viv Lythgoe and Barry Allen, who also wrote "Stop Press" for Hedgehoppers Anonymous.

I'd say it's pop psych...and absolutely delightful pop sike at that too! Indeed, it does remind a bit of SF and their later album tracks like Rene :)
