This wonderful fifty-one year old guitar weighs just 7.20 lbs. and has a very unusual medium-to-thick neck profile more akin to a '56 rather than the typical 'skinny' profile of a '58. Three staggered-height pole pickups with nicely balanced outputs of 5.65k, 5.67k, and 5.55k. Solid alder body and one-piece fretted maple neck. Six-pivot bridge/vibrato unit with through-body stringing. The neck and body are both dated March 1958 and apart from some heavy belt buckle wear to the back, this fine and totally original instrument is in excellent plus (8.75)condition with no excuses. Complete with the original tremolo arm and bridge cover. Housed in it's original tweed case with brown leather ends (8.00).

  • Phil X always makes me laugh. With his playing style anything would sound fat. He hammers it.

  • what is the name of the song at 0:26?

  • WOW 7.2 lbs. with fat maple! They dont make em like they used to. No select tonewoods, no artist grade private stock, just run of the mill (pun intended) planks and glue. Wonder why most of them were so light back then. Now days you need to pay 3200.00 for a custom shop that light. And maple typically is heavier than rosewood. Phil is the man!

  • Phil X sitting is just not right.

  • Phil is just way more cool when he stands

  • @wiganlad2006 No he had a 58 after his 57 was stolen, i know because i am a diehard Holly fan, He got his Strats stolen twice, he replaced the 57 with the 58, Go to the buddy Holly center and look at the guitar there

  • A friend of mine Jim Holvay had a '58 Strat. It was the first one I played. I ended up with a 1960 Strat.

  • @1FenderGuy Buddy Holly had a 57 Stratocaster.

  • @TH3C0RPS3R I can tell you it's crap but I've never heard of it

  • Dude,is that finger nail polish your wearing ?.Uhhhggghhh.

Wicked gat though albeit nowhere near as nice tonally as the 54 Strat you demo'd ..

  • Buddy Holly had a 58 that looked like that except with 5 springs
