Friday Night Jumpers Cornerstone Farms June 18 2010

Hooray for Aki's triumphant return to Cornerstone's Friday Night Jumpers! Third show of the 2010 show season, second at Cornerstone, but the first show with FNJ. All even classes consisted of two parts: part a) 11-jump course, faulted but not timed; part b) 5-jump jump-off course, faulted and timed. Odd-numbered classes were the 11-jump course timed and faulted. Aki and I jumped in classes 1-4, all at 2'6". First round- knocked a rail of the LAST JUMP in the jump-off, got third. Second round (not filmed) clear round, first place. Third round was also clear, also first place. Fourth round I went off course (and realized it as soon as Aki was in the air over the wrong jump) and consequently we were disqualified. Thanks to my Mom for playing Cameraman, and Cortland for putting on the show. It was really hot that day (Aki was sweating when I got him out of the pasture) so he was a fantastic boy for running so hard in such bad conditions. Footing was deep, with the far side of the arena swampy.

Yeah I'm soooo proud of Aki this year ^.^ He's really got his head together so this show season should be great. You should do jumpers!! Even if you don't place well, it's nice to just let your horse gallop over the jumps, pick his own striding and such.

im doing Friday night jumpers at the coming up show i just got the ok to use the trailer im so excited but actually nervous, when i bought dandy i never planned on hunters really i wanted to do jumpers and try to get in level 2's or 3's eventually, but you know what happened, so im getting kinda nervous but excited to finally be able to get back on track and our first time with jumpers like i wanted .. :D
