http://michaelkwan.com - A huge colony of giant fruit bats in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. They were flying all along the esplanade, beach, and CBD (downtown) regions, particularly at night. I believe they are flying foxes and are mostly harmless.

  • They are "spectacled flying foxes". They spend their days on the trees at Abott street, near the library. Every evening at around 19:10 they take off and head for the rainforest where they feed on fruits. There are hundreds a Abott streat, and even more in a colony near Andersen & Peat street.
