***READ BEFORE WATCHING***

Note: This run is NOT tool-assisted. It was played in real time by Neviutz.

This single segment run of Spyro 2 aims to beat the game as quickly as possible while getting the least possible amount of gem payments and upgrades bought. The final time of the run is 37:10.4, starting at the first frame of control and ending at the first fading screen after losing control, i.e. after the final hit on the boss.

This was done by exploiting many tricks and gltiches to speed up gameplay. Check out the author's comments below for a more detailed explanation of what's going on in the run:

Neviutz has given me permission to host his run for him. It should not be uploaded without first getting permission from him.

  • gawd spyro and crash was my childhood ....

    i miss it

  • I've got quite the nostalgic blast from this video. I remember when i finally had 100% completed it.... Memories that will never die <33

  • @zimdelinvasor I only changed minor things like, leave 10 gems there and collect them some place else instead, nothing too different from this route. Basically I just had better execution and a bit more luck on Gulp and Ripto.

  • @NeviutzLP I'm a bit rusty because I haven't tried to do a speedrun of this game in a while, tried for the first time in a while yesterday and managed to get about 40 minutes, didn't time it exactly. I'll probably watch this all the way through at some point to see where I could save time. Did you change anything major between this and the 35:20 one or did you just manage to get through it faster overall?

  • @zimdelinvasor I think I had reasons if I didn't use the fastest method for a certain level, may it either be gem collecting or the fact that certain skips would barely save any time compared to the risk they take (Crystal Glacier, Breeze Harbor, Zephyr - to name a few).

If you want, feel free to send me a message with the stuff you think you'd be doing faster in the individual levels, I'll gladly help out.

In case you attempt this run try beat 35:20 instead, my new personal best.

  • I have some faster methods than the ones you used on some of the levels so I'm gonna try and beat this eventually. I'll probably fail, but still. That's a better method of getting into Ripto than the one I was using, though.

  • Sick of looking up gulp's ass yet?

  • @ToonLinkGaming I know it can be beaten, I even stated that in the author comments. Also, on a note, I did beat it already, I just never bothered uploading another video of it as it will eventually be beaten again sometime. Feel free to try beat it though, best of luck.

  • @narutofan9999 Any game ever can be disliked for a reason like that. "I never liked ocarina of time, you're pretty much just walking around... that's it..."

  • Oh man I love this game.
