One of the venerable but still much loved InterCity 125s arriving at Gloucester in April 2006. Like the rest of the train, locomotive 43126 is in First Great Western livery.

  • 125s - Chester City Casual Hooligans - The Only Firm Dedicated To Fighting The Welsh.

  • I understand that it is still illegal for a Welshman to be at large in Chester during the hours of darkness but please remember all the contributions to railways that the Welsh have made. All the high calorie coal and Pen-Y-Darren 1804 spring to mind. You should also be nice to Sian Adey Jones and Lisa Scott Lee in my opinion!

  • Fair point. But I do hate the Welsh who are blatently English but still learn Welsh just so they can be proudof there heritage.

  • I think I understand. One of my first memories of Wales was being in a shop in Porthmadog ( Welsh for Port Maddock - Maddock being the MP for Boston who founded the Festiniog Railway )and the Welsh people realising my family were English and starting to talk to one another in Welsh so we could not understand them - apart from the odd expression like "fifty two pee a pound it was look you!". I expect Katherine Jenkins would be too polite to do that thought!

  • If you are reading this from Nebraska and your name is Cool Bun, visit www.softdata.co.uk, click on Gloucestershire Transport History on the bottom right of the home page and then use the email alan link above the GWR railcar. You sound cool too!

  • It's not so much that I am dull but that this was my first experiment with a digital movie camera - and if a train pulling into a station was good enough for the lumiere brothers it was good enough for me! I am glad that you all could see it. My alleged broadband connection here only seems to work on videos of 17 seconds or less. As a newcomer to YouTube am I missing some process here?

  • My broadband connection is now working and so, like you, I can now hear as well as see 43126 and its train arriving. Indeed, it is nice to hear the distinctive sound of an HST - made by two Paxman Valenta high speed diesel engines placed at either end of the Mark 3 carriages. Note too the sound of the brakes as the train decelerates much more rapidly than the older engine-and-carriages trains it replaced 30 years ago.

  • It is indeed, i doubt it would hold in court tho.

  • Then why look for videos of trains then, Entakorse? Great vid, bytheway.

  • why are you watching it then

  • shut up Entakoarse you wind bag! HSTs are good!

  • there's nothing dull about the iconic and resoundingly successful IC HST 125.

What is dull is the constant ignorance surrounding the rail network!.

    Well done!.

    Nice video.
