Daisy, my 1953 Split Screen Morris Minor Tourer finally arrives in Hong Kong after a month in a shipping container all the way from Rothley,Leicestershire, England. All was OK except the oil pressure pipe behind the dash had become disconnected and when I cranked Daisy up, a litre of oil quickly pumped itself down my jeans, into my trainers and onto the drivers side carpets. Arghhhhh. So I now need to courier into Hong Kong a new set of carpets. Daisy looks fabulous and within minutes of ariving has created a lot of interest by locals....

  • Thats an idea.... I Must get around tp buying a tin of waxoil and give the box sections a good treatment.

  • It used to be a common car in Hong Kong. But with high humidity, it is no easy task to keep these old cars here. My mom told me that she learn how to drive with a Morris Minor, probably in the 60's here.

Thanks for showing your nice car. It surely brings back all the old memories!

  • @outhere0101 Thats right. I have heard so many people here say that they learnt to drive in a Morris Minor. As far as I know, there is a white morris minor saloo, a green traveller, a blue customised pick up and my black convertible in HK. Cant see anyone else bringing one in as the Government are really tough on their first registration testing and the amount of documentation required was a nightmare !!

  • Im having a great time with Daisy in Hong Kong. This is one of a kind in Hong Kong and the people in the streets stand and watch in wonder as we potter by. Great fun !! Thanks for your kind comments. Charles ;-)

  • Beautiful!! I'd love to see it.... very appropriate music... "you only live twice" nice touch....

  • @samirsukhadia

Thanks for your comment. "you only live twice" was chosen because the car was having its second lease of life after I had finished the full restoration and it moving the car to Hong Kong. Also, I love all the old James Bond film music....as a lot of those films were made on location in places like Hong Kong, Thailand etc.

  • @jonah681 Thanks Jonah681. I agree....Hong Kong is such a small place that Daisy may well become a bit of a celebrity !!

  • Beautiful car. No one on the video walks past without giving it a good look!
