I'm curious to see if Obama's gambit pays off. It was gutsy to assume the American people would listen to and think about a long, nuanced argument about race. I'm not sure they will, but I think it would make a difference if they did. Alas, I think the speech will be quote mined for gotcha moments, since that has been established to work. As to Wright's remarks, I confess I don't like being lumped in with racist whites, but I'm not going to ignore the truths he brings cos he makes me squirm.
