The truck was due for new injectors, that's why I haven't shown this before. Too much black smoke. Truck grossing about 80 tons or 179,000 lbs. Power by Cat 3408.

@HUTCHtopher Actually they don't have wastegates, I guess the sound is the turbo decelerating.

Does the 3408 have jakes in them I have never seem one with and would like to know if they sound jsut like the mack v8s running around. If I remeber right you cant get a cummins in mack anymore either we got the last one at our shop and its an 07. All the good engines in the US are banned because tree huggers thin diesel soot damages the air.

@wemoy No they don't have jakes, they have a CAT Brakesaver which is a hydraulic retarder that works off the engine oil. It make a whining noise and you can hear it on my vid 'Like Big V8s'.

You can get Cummins Sig. and ISX or the Mack MP8 on new Australian Macks. In fact you can only get the Cummins on the Australian Titan. But no more Mack V8s.

@scania98989 Mack use Volvo engines now (badged as Mack) because they are owned by Volvo, but you can also have Cummins.

The V8 E9 Mack engine had similarities to the Scania V8 but I don't know much about them.

When they were owned by Renault they had Renault engines, or you could have the E9 V8. They don't make the Mack V8 anymore.

our emissions in the US is all based off of Californias air act which measures the amount of emissions in LA sandieago and other big cities in the Ca reagion and then they say the rest of the US needs to be the same

I love the brake savers,had one on my loggin truck with the 3406,held back great on the grades,only trouble was ya have to watch the engine oil temps on long grades in hot weather.
