Lathe di chadar - Musarrat Nazir "Chandni". Musarrat Nazir, born 1937, is a singer and actress who sang and acted in many Urdu and Punjabi films. She also sang solo numbers, mostly wedding and folk songs. Her first film was "Qatil" made in 1955, directed by Anwar Kamal Pasha who introduced her as "Chandni". She later appeared as Mussarat Nazeer/Nazir with Santosh Kumar in Punjabi film "Patan" produced by Sheikh Lateef, directed by Luqman. Mussarat also starred with singer/actress Noor Jehan, and Aslam Pervez in "Paatay Khan" produced by Shami. Her other hit films include "Maahi Munda," "Yakkay Wali," "Yaar Beli," "Kartaar Singh," "Zeher-e-Ishq," "Naukri," "Aankh Ka Nasha," "Baap Ka Gunah," "Qismat," "Naya Zamana," "Jatti," "Watan," "Raza," "Sola Aanay," "Street number 77," "Gudda Guddi," "Lakan Matti," "Seestaan," "Sahara," "Rukhsana," Thandi Sarak," "Palkan," "Sehti," "Sunehray Sapnay," "Mirza Sahebaan," "Jaaedaad," "Jhoomar," "Gulbadan," "Ishq Per Zoar Nahin," "Chotay Sarkaar," "Mungoal," "Muft Bur," "Gulfaam," "Bahadur," "Baaghi," "Jaan-e-Bahar," etc. Her other super hit songs include song "Us bay wafa ka sheher hai" (film "Shaheed"); "Mera long gawaacha"; "Lathe Di Chader, Utay Salehti". She lives with her husband and daughter in Toronto Canada.

She was born to a middle class family on October 13 1940. Her parents were of Kashmiri origin from Lahore. Her father, Khwaja Nazeer Ahmed, worked for the municipal corporation as a registered contractor at the time of her birth

Many famous Punjabi singers have sung this beautiful folk song , but this presentation by the great Punjabi singer Mussart Nazir is the best and stands out. A true Punjabi face who sings with deep passion for Punjabi folk songs. May she keep on enjoying good and live long .

Can someone tell me where this best legend, top singer, Princess of Pakistan lives in Canada? I want to see live once in my life, and kiss their hands and feet before I die! I've heard their songs and cried with us, and my childhood memories is alive again, as I was then 11 years old!
