A true managerial Dashboard uses a specific set of components that display one value only (usually a KPI- Key Performance Indicator) and its status in relation to predefined threshold values. The most known dashboard gauge is the Dial Gauge that displays the value according to colored sections with some meanings
These may (or may not) be combined with regular charts and tables on a panel to create a managerial dashboard .Look at DashboardPlus Excel utility for example
