Connecting ice machine to water supply - Andy Bell of Handyman Matters shows us how to connect the water line from the valve inserted in the water supply earlier. Take the polypropylene hose and connect it to valve then drill a hole in floor where refrigerator is going to connect it to the hose. There is a plastic cap on the back of the refrigerator and that needs to be removed in order to hook up the water line. Once it's connected run 2 gallons of water through and it should be ready to go.

  • WARNING: The plastic pressure fitting for my polypropylene water line split, causing a slow drip, which did not spill out onto my floor, but ran down my wall. Six months later, it was $20,000 to repair the water damage to my house. Stay away from these plastic lines and use braided metal flex lines with metal fittings.
