Austerlitz, Jena-Auerstad, Eylau,,Wagram, Moskova. In ogni battaglia Davout venne schierato all'ala destra. E vinse.

Seriously, I don't really believe that a victory by the French at Waterloo would have permanently altered things. The Russians and Austrians were coming, and Napoleon no longer had the resources or the health to replicate his earlier victories. My original remark was a tongue-in-cheek tribute to Davout.
If Davout had been at Waterloo, we'd all be speaking French!

I highly doubt that Napoleon entered the 1815 campaign with the aim to re-conquer the territory he had lost, or even world domination...it was more like destroying the allied armies in Belgium fast before the arrival of the Austrian-Russian behemoth, and gain a better position for peace negotiations...as for Davout's presence, it remains one of history's typical "what if" situations....what if Napoleon's most able marshal was in charge (of the corps assigned to smash the retreating Prussians)?
