First moving test of Stingray bicycle powered by a small turbojet engine. Bike can be driven 3 ways: normal peddle power, front wheel electric drive (36v @ 500W lithium batteries - range 15 miles at 30 mph), or turbojet engine (30 pounds thrust 5 minute burn duration at full power - 50 mph max speed). Fuel (Kerosene/Turbine Oil mix) consumption is 20 ounces per minuite at full power.

  • Well, start off by buying a Jetcat turbine jet engine. Nothing magic here.

  • @TheKookOfKong Nothing magic implied - but the cost is worth noting. A similar JetCat brand Turbojet Engine is over $5,000 - our comparable engine is less than 1/2 the price.

  • how long does the fuel last? is it expensive? is this a viable thing to take to work?!

  • @LuckyCharms432 The engine is expensive - in the area of $2,300. It eats fuel quickly and would consume the small pint sized fuel tank in just a few minutes. It's good for quick bursts of power lasting 3 or 4 minutes. The bike installation was just to demo the engine its power. To make a useful Jet Bike, you'd want a bigger fuel tank and make it as light as possible for maximum speed/acceleration. We have too much 'show-off' crap (lights, batteries, gadgets) on it for optimal performance.

  • how fast is it in fwd mode

  • @MrFarty98 Top speed is about 50 MPH, but it is very uncomfortable at that speed. I feel much more relaxed at 35 MPH. 50 MPH on this type of bicycle is a bit unsteady and stopping takes way too long. It was built as a demonstration device for customers wanting to purchase the small turbojet engines and wasn't designed for high performance or high speed.

  • My highschool engineering class is building a jet train in 1/8 scale, this would be perfect.

  • @wwwunitednuclear Ty , been a fan of UN before google and when you guys still sold DMT. THAT LONG

  • I want one!!!

  • @wwwunitednuclear What do you mean by uncomfortable? (like some1 pushing ur bike along by the seat when u dont want them to kinda thing? Or more like the tilt on the front forks is more for show?) also what kinda consumption do u get for the jet and what types of fuel are compatible?) Looks and sounds cool at any rate, a welcome difference from the 2strokes that deafen me when they pass my house :-) What about a hydrogen push-bike add-on .. any plans?

  • Ponte casco!!!

  • Fantastically Awesome!! :D
