I'm a pretty conservative guy and certainly not an Obama supporter....but I still can't believe the Republicans (i.e McCain) picked this dim bulb....She certainly deserved. and still deserves, all the criticism she gets.....what an idiot!!

The fact that u even bring up Obama's name shows that there is no defense of this lady not knowing the previous administrations foreign policy doctrine, a major issue during that election!! I didn't like Palin one bit, however when not knowing the answer to a question and running for political office, she did not come up with a dumb answer, as many of us would or we would just sit there looking stupid. However, I dont know who said this, but this woman was a heartbeat away from becoming president and that my friends was is a scary thought.

If McCain ran against a traditional white moderate Democrat with no major controversy and full experience, he would have lost miserably by 10-15 points in the popular vote and would have been slaughter something like 420 to 118 in the Electoral College.
