Here's a demonstration of the gameplay on a 1981 Stern Lightning pinball machine. I shot a video if this game a couple of years ago, but I wasn't entirely happy with it so I figued I'd shoot another one with brigher lighting and increased volume (and less of my annoying voice).
Stern really tried hard to make a feature-filled machine with this one. It has super cool early electronic speech, multiball, two levels, two ramps, a display in the playfield for adding up the bonus, fantastic and colourful artwork, lots of drop targets and a rule set that is challenging and utilizes all of the playfield's potential.
This is one of my favourite pinball machines. One of Stern's finest for sure.
Not that Lightning *really* needs to be much harder, BUT if you removed the upper ball gates, you get some great upper/lower pf flow - I really like how mine played that way.

So depressing. The only way I can enjoy a pinball is watching a video of someone else playing one. Gawd I miss the old arcades.... :'(

Awesome looking pinball machine!
Looks like one to add to my pinball collection at some point. :)
