Simulation of a World War Two air attack against a US military train. It is most likely the filming took place on the Claiborne-Polk Military Railroad in Louisiana as part of training exercises for the US Armys railroad operations.

A mockup / training exercise, filmed on US soil. You'll note the 'attacking' plane has US markings!

  • very neat

  • @PoathArchives oh now i see them

  • Is that Rich Melvin as the narrator? It sounds like him.

  • Don't see much military railroaders anymore. I helped in 3 rail-loads & supervised 1 more. Not an enjoyable job either end, but I am glad for the experience. Interestingly, the Interstate's primary reason was to ensure fast & efficient military moves within the U.S., as it's cheaper, quicker, & easier to rebuild part of a highway than it is for rail. The initial name of the mega-project was "Roads for Nat'l Defense", and it can STILL legally be closed at any time for military use only.

  • Yes this was CPMRR. This unit was the 725th ROB

  • @Webber362 She was scrapped as far as I can trace but still looking for her origins. Rumor has it that she might even have been sent to Eglin AFB and used for target practice

  • cool!! that was some fast-put-together their!
