  • @MrEpiclylaterd I completely agree with your observation. I'm going to add my opinion: dredg hasn't quite captured of El Cielo since, but I can't blame them for trying. Chuck and Squeezy is probably my favorite of post-El Cielo albums. I just don't get why people get hung up on bands not recreating their sound. I have El Cielo and I don't need another, I'd rather listen to a band evolve with the smallest chance they'll recapture that old magic in a new way.

  • I love this song, I love the title of the album and I love the album cover. Too bad the rest of the songs were so bad...

  • @xmutanrashenx108x Dino told me that he was experimenting with DMT at a show in colorado a few months back

  • @182blinkit the girl in the background had a beard dude

  • @urskittles fuck i gotta watch it again, i dont get it.

  • @sadmachine - And if I'm not mistaken...Chuckles & Mr.Squeezy (such a weird fucking album title) & Orph are the only albums that aren't conceptual pieces. And I guess Orph only had a couple songs so somebody might not even count that as a whole album, even though its my favorite of theirs. I've been hearing "Dredg's new album is shit" since Catch Without Arms & I think that was where this whole transformation (alienation) began.

  • @sadmachine - I agree with the latter part of your comment, but not the first part.

They clearly wanted to make a record that reached a broader fan base, but this is naturally going to alienate fans of the previous work b/c its more accessible. It's not enough of a change that I would say the old Pathos of Dredg is gone. And I don't think it's as simple as wanting to make a good album. I think they wanted to do something radically different, not a concept album, & take a risk.

  • @MrEpiclylaterd i don't think they were trying to alienate anyone. they were probably just trying to make a good album. i think they failed miserably in that endeavor, and so do a lot of other people, but if this is music that dredg is proud of then good for them for doing something artistically fulfilling and fuck what anybody else thinks.

  • @sadmachine - LOL. I think they're trying to alienate people like you dude. Maybe the lyrical content isn't as strong/as busy/noticable on this album, but I respectively disagree with you. I think the band wanted to make an album that was not a typical Dredg album; ie an album not focused on Dino or Gavins lyrics or whatever. Melody/Beat driven dark-pop is what I hear.

None of the albums are similar in sound except for Cielo & Leitmotif in my opinion. Then=Orph & Now=Chuckles/TPTPTD

  • @urskittles *little bitch
