Still talking about low-carb Induction, http://LivinLaVidaLowCarb.com blogger Jimmy Moore and his wife Christine continue their recent series of videos on their popular "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb On YouTube" videos introducing the vital first phase of starting on the Atkins diet.

In Episode 39, Jimmy and Christine began listing some of the dos and don'ts of Induction and they pick right back up with this theme by sharing more about what you should and should not do when you are on low-carb Induction.

INDUCTION DOS and DON'TS (cont.)
- Be careful about consuming too much caffeine
- Caffeine-free diet sodas like Diet Rite with Splenda are better
- Drink water, tea, coffee or diet soda (up to 3 servings a day)
- Add True Lemon products to flavor your water for taste
- Take a solid iron-free multivitamin like Centrum Silver
- Consume 1000mg of a quality pharmaceutical-grade fish oil with a meal daily
- Carlson's liquid fish oil is best
- Do not drink any alcoholic beverages during Induction
- Eat only when you are hungry
- Eat 4-6 frequent small meals throughout the day to ward off hunger
- Remember, a low-carb diet is a natural appetite suppressant because of the fat and protein
- ENJOY YOUR PERMANENT LIFESTYLE CHANGE!

Come back to watch the next video as Jimmy and Christine will provide more tips and reminders about Induction as well as some menu planning ideas that you WON'T want to miss if you're starting out on low-carb Induction for the first time.

  • Is crystal light ok?

  • @mssugaraddict Just be careful of the amount of artificial sweeteners you consume. I believe that product has aspartame which I call NASTY-tame! You don't need it.

  • Jimmy, the meat you eat is it grass fed? Does it matter if its grain fed meat?

  • Grass-fed is ideal, but not always affordable. I get it when I can and see any meat as better than carbs.

  • I just ran out and got myself some of that Diet Rite. I freakin love it. I think I'll drop my Diet Dew and do Diet Rite.

  • Smart move! :)

  • Vegetable should not be eaten raw. The decision to cook or not cook depends on whether or not heat will release nutrients or inhibit them. Google Sally Fallon, Raw Foodists and you will see an article called The Right Price. Skip down to "Raw Foodists"

  • @mssugaraddict

Can't you squeeze your own lemons insteae of buying toxic refined and processed commercial food? You should never drink artificial sweetners. Jeez I thought low carb people were a little bit more informed but I can see I am wrong

  • Does low carb living cause someone to act like him? I hope not

  • THANKS Kim! There are low-carb chocolates out there and my favorite is ChocoPerfection bars. They even made a raspberry dark chocolate bar for me called the Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Bar. Check it out on my blog. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
