Eva Ybarra is known as the queen of the Tex-Mex accordion. At age six she made her professional debut in her native San Antonio; in 1997-8 she was in Seattle as the University of Washington's artist in residence in ethnomusicology. She is seen here at the 2006 Narciso Martínez Cultural Arts Center Conjunto Festival in San Benito, Texas--"¡Arriba San Benito!"--a few miles north of the Rio Grande, along with a few happy audience members, during an extended jam on "Juana la cubana."
