I am completely boggled..... those of you that are saying she's creative and has amazing stage presence must be watching a different video. This was sloppy and unprofessional.

Not Belly Dance As I was taught.

I saw her live and took one of her workshops out of curiosity ..And the whole time i was thinking she is the one that needs the workshop..Shes really bad at keeping ones attention too..dont get me wrong..I love whats unique about her..I didnt have enough space to write that..But when your compare her to the dancers with real technique, or even talent she looks like an amateur.. You see her with Ariellah a lot..i think she could teach her some new things..

The leg shimmy is a cabaret floorwork move - this performance clip is not metered correctly and is at a really bad angle. Look up her Spring Caravan, 2008 for a much better quality video of this piece, and check out her more recent videos too - Tempest is a great dancer with strong technique and her own style (not another copycat!) and an excellent teacher - with great students to prove it!~ You really must see her dance live!

Shes a really bad dancer..The worst Bellydance i have ever seen..She badly needs to work on her technique..Her undulations dont really undulate and her hips are really stiff..and whats with 1:58..it looks like a dog shaking its leg when your rub its belly..You would never see the big names do this..Its all about TECHNIQUE!!! I respect Tempest as a person but if you study after her, your performance will be just as bad :(

its nice :)
Yes, maybe her techinque isn't n1 in the world, but it is dancing, not sport!!! She is amazingly creative, her stage presence is just stunning and she has style. And by style I mean personality. There are many many fusion b-dancers, who just have good isolations and learn one or two egyptian moves and then perform it all in a row to industrial music.THAT is not dance. That is workout. What Tempest does is dancing...and as I techer I think she is really effective, from my experience at least.

You're welcome to your opinion, but the woman has amazing presence and grace; I've never seen her have a problem commanding a large or small classroom in the 5 or 6 workshops I've taken with her, she breaks things down very well, has a great sense of humor, and gets to the heart of the dance. BTW, Ariellah actually learned a lot of her stage presence and exercises from Tempest, and I personally believe Tempest is more creative and interesting to watch, and a far better teacher.
