UPDATE 2/28/09 : this NJ transit cars are for Amtrak and not Metrolink.

-----"They will be conformed into two equipment sets and introduced into the San Joaquin service, Caltrans will then re-allocate several California bi-level cars into the Pacific Surfliner fleet."---- Amtrak Southwest Division News

I was on Metro Gold Line, on the way to home but when I saw that old train set with UP unit, I decided to get off at China Town and returned to Union Station!
Filmed at Union Station, Los Angeles, CA on 12/3108.
I heard Metrolink is going to use that old NJ transit cars until new passenger cars delivered to Metrolink.

  • SICK!

  • Metrolink should use Metro North and Conndot's Shoreliners and P32ACDMs.

  • So rare NJT with the Surfliner passing and pulled by Union Pacific. Amtrak sprung for the decent cars too for The San Joaquins. Septa went for the crap of the lot and slapped some cheaply cut Septa decals on the NJT logos. The paint is scratched and the decals are crooked. I hope Amtrak decals them nice. Great shot. (if you get a chance for a laugh look up the cars Septa got from NJT)

  • the farthest out was NJT went was Indiana

  • and UTA

  • NJT is expanding, welcome to the United States of New Jersey!
