I remember the illo well, and now after seeing the pencils, hope Theakston lightboxed it!
It's so AMAZING how Jack just knocks out such a BEAUTIFUL rendition of the unmasked Dr. Doom, like it was yesterday instead of 13 years since he was professionally drawing the Fantastic Four in one of, if not, THE most historic run of all time!!

I'm proud to have the same birthday a Mr. Kirby (The King of Comics) which is ''August 28th''.
Unfortunately he is gone but we will never forget how much hard work he put into his Comics and how he should have gotten more credit for the characters he created.

I definitely like the idea that Doom was just imagining the extent of his scarring instead of actually being horribly disfigured.
Kirby was a hell of an American icon.
