  • Well here is some perspective for you all. Those GE locomotives, I suspect are Dash 9 from looking at the radiators, hold 4000 gallons of fuel. SD70MAC holds 4000. SD70ACE holds 4500 gallons and the biggest tank I've seen come across our service area is a CN SD90MAC at 5200.

  • @1wwefan316  So what is your calculation on fuel spilled.........from the expert? Do Tell !

  • 9,000 Gal. is more like it since the fuel tank capacity per locomotive is about 5,000 to 7,000 Gal.

  • @TheBullsam1 That makes alot more since......we can run our rig all week on 200 gallons. Granted that we don't have near as many ponie's, as these guys burn. I thought the fuel rumor had to be bogus
