Imagine that Titanic did not sink in 1912 and will be scrapped in 1937, the same year as Majestic's day of scrapping. I can't imgine thousands or maybe millions of people gather to save the Titanic, rallying around every corner of England. The people went on crying as they saw Titanic moving away to its final resting place. And all of the ships blew their loudest horns in a salute to the Titanic and the birds were flying around it as if they were saying goodbye. That would be very touching then.

yes, i should say that the white star line outranked cunard from the start of early until the mid 1930's. When White star's super liners slowly disappeared, cunard took advantage and became more popular by then. They slowly eat up white star line until all of their ships are finally gone.

it was one of the big three of the whitestarline company. cunard and white star were the foremost shipping companies that competed for no.1 spot in transatlantic sea route... it was white stars big three ( 46000 ton olympic, 36000 tons homeric, & 56000 ton majestic) vs cunards big three ( aquitania 45000 tons, mauretania 32000 tons & berengaria 52000 tons)

The Majestic in all her beauty & glory, inside & out, is the most beautiful, luxurious ship the White Star Line ever had. The biggest ship in the world. White star's last big ship.

I love Majestic! This ship is wonderful! I have to know more about her.
I thought the Leviathan/Vaterland was bigger than Majestic?
NicksandSlick 6 months ago
@NicksandSlick It was a matter of debate: When the Leviathan entered service as an American ship, she was boosted as the largest in the world (for publicity reasons), because their new owners measured her tonnage using the "American ton", slightly smaller than the British one (then, during the forced standstill during the Great Depression she was re-measured to 44000 tons in order to pay less harbour taxes ;-) ). Using the American unit, the Majestic tonnage would be near 61000 tons

what year was this ship lanuched?
legofan725 11 months ago
@legofan725 she was launched in 1914 as Bismarck by Imperial Germany, but, due to the outbreak of WW1 she wasn't completed until 1923, when she entered commercial service as Majestic under the White Star Line.
