  • The bird you hear is outside/window was open.&birds don't inherently have mites. &often the mites they do have are avian specific.Birds from good breeders/that are well taken care of do not usually have mites anyway. There is no reason a bird shouldn't even be in a home with chins.Same room would be bad-birds require warmth/chins cold.If in the same home anyone handling should be diligent about hand washing. The baby is turning out well :) Big and very talkative.

  • Thanks for the video. Watching my chinchilla give birth was an unforgettable experience - especially when she had three babies in one go !! :)

  • you are a dumbass girl you should know even if there were mites they cant survive in the chinlla fur cause its too dense so before you go and rant on other people you should think about the things you say befor you say it

  • Wire is OK so long as the floor is solid, and the spacing is no more than 1"x1/2" squares or LESS. And lower cages are best for babies so they can't climb to high and hurt or kill themselves from the fall.

  • never heard of chinchilla *suscribes* can you give me information on them?

  • I love chinchillas and have one of my own!

We went to the Ryerson chinchilla ranch to get him and saw one being born there!

  • a bird should not be near a chinchilla...not even in the same house really, because they have mites which could cause major damage to a chin. I think I heard one in the background. I hope the baby turns out well. Congrats!
