Intending to capture some interesting video footage of his Yamaha R1 superbike test, the editor of Popular Mechanics in South Africa held a small digicam in his left hand and took the 200 m.p.h. bike for a leisurely ride through the suburbs, switching cogs without using the clutch. Then - on the face of it, anyway - it all fell apart. (For the REAL story, check out his "Darwin Awards" blog on www.popularmechanics.co.za)
Looks very dramatic, and quite painful! What kind of loony would side a superbike while holding a video camera? Maybe they do things differently in the colonies?
