How far away were you? It's very clear. I have the same camera but cannot use 18x zoom any closer than about 2 metres from the subject, just can't focus.

@IIMatteoII Dear Matteo, I'm terribly sorry that I did not react to you earlier. This is because the messages are linked to an email address that i don't use too often. Denise simply used AI mode. But you cannot zoom in a maximum, when you're close. More info about this in the excellent short manual for FZ38 of an Australian guy, to be downloaded at seattlepcservice.ie/fz35.htm#PocketManual . Of course she had the auto-stabilizer on. So: nothing special, I'm still a beginner in ZZ38
