Primarily a discussion about cables. Shown here is a way of simplifying a guitar rig so the pedalboard is [easily] wired in the amplifier's effects loop.

  • thanks. and God bless you too. I'm meeting more and more Christian musicians. In fact watched one answer the call this past year. I would have wrote this man off, but God had another plans. He's an ace guitarist!

  • @Robb9096

Thanks man. I am a Christian; I have no problem publicly announcing that. Just trying to present information that helps other musicians, whether it's technical or (in this case) practical in scope.

I feel that I should add, I don't subscribe to the idea that just because I'm a Christian and I play electric guitar, that I'm supposed to mimic U2's / The Edge's guitar tones/sounds.

  • 18 feet of cable for an fx loop = NO TREBLE in the signal lol

  • @musichopper I run my Pittbull amp's effect send/output at maximum and I have buffered pedals in my chain. I've got treble for days!

  • OMG never cut with a utility knife towards your fingers, ever :)

I swear I'm going to make a video of myself doing dangerous stuff just to see how many people comment on it.

  • BARONESS!!! Excellent video btw =)

  • Man, what a great idea to make a "snake" to run from the amp to the pedalboard. Sheesh, why didn't I think of that before. I bet that will save some setup/teardown time. Thanks!

  • Great idea on the "Instrument Cable Snake" - I've done the same thing to send my Looper into the Effects Loop of my Bass Preamps. All of my effects are Front-Of-Preamp but all non-True Bypass are in a Loop-Master Bypass, and thus my Looper "loops" all of my effected sounds in stereo while maintaining the best possible tone.

  • Man I got a big problem I kinda get this but I don't get how to set pedals up maybe you can help me with this. (It may be something completely different) I use an real old amp head that my great uncle passed down to me and it has an effects loop in it. I also use the boss ns2 which has the send and return connectors too. I use a chorus delay phaser two distortion wah and od as well to get my tones. how should I set these pedals up with the loop ?

  • what are the patch loops for that u talk about in the end? u just use the loop with 2 cords and plug in, right? are they for using the pedal board to plug the diff cords into or what? confused about why u need it and what it does.. thanks.

  • Can i use the fx loop on or between two amps, or would I have to by two copies of my pedals then?

  • Baroness!
