Can you remember the number of the engine? The engine number, not the loco! Ta

I walked through one at 125, full throttle. Was an experience! Had to be brave lol. Wind through the bodyside grill by the cooler groups was like a gale.

so would i. i went into an engine of a MTU and i couldent go any further than the turbocharger.

In Bristol at an HST depot, I believe there was only 2 paxmans left on the first great western fleet at the time

the noise of the mtus is less than the paxmans as they have four small turbos rather than one huge one which screamed. the worst thing about the mtus is the heat from the glowing turbos as you pass them somewhere around 400 degrees plus ,
