Aired in 1996, this "Central Coast News" promo from KCCN-TV Monterey-Salinas-Santa Cruz features Ed Bradford, Karina Rusk, and Hunter Finnell.
This promo was produced during a turbulent time at KCCN-TV. On April 24, 1996, the station owner finalized a LMA (License Management Agreement) with Ackerly Communications, owner of competing KCBA-TV. Later that day, without advance notice to anyone, the entire KCCN staff was fired and the newscasts abruptly cancelled.
Ackerly's plan was to shutdown KCCN's Monterey studio and run both stations out of the KCBA studio in Salinas as soon as possible. Some of the former KCCN employees were re-hired to work in the newly combined KCBA/KCCN operation, with newscasts scheduled to resume on June 3, 1996.
That was an apparently very short-lived logo.
