Warwick International Ltd won the ultimate accolade of National Training Awards 2010 'Winner of the Year' in the Medium Employer's category at the UK Ceremony held on the 1 December at Old Billingsgate.
Leading chemical manufacturer; Warwick International Ltd. invested £2million in a purpose-built plant in order to utilise the acetic acid produced by the manufacture of their core product used in washing powder. For two years the plant only achieved an output of 33% capacity and morale was low. New managers were encouraged to look at a new approach to training staff, giving them the opportunity to gain ownership and become passionate about the quality and delivery of product. The organisation has seen some staggering results; turnover is now at £3million and output has improved to well over 70%.
The Judges noted that this was a great example of using the NTA model to achieve organisational success through training, fully involving the workforce throughout and creating a real culture change. Training has in this case transformed the entire organisation.
