Hope you guys are doing well. Feels great to be able to paint again!
I've decided to do an oil painting of a Brazilian (Chinese- and Japanese-mixed) model, Bruna Tenório. Such a gorgeous gal. I came across her in the Anthropologie catalog and could not resist painting a portrait of her. So far, she's my favorite model.
The painting actually dried in a day or two, which surprised me.
Anyone know any good gloss-like substance I can paint over as a glossy coating?

you could use polyurethane paint. it ill give it a finish shine and a layer of protection. make your paintings bomb-proof!

and all the colors you throw in the painting are great! how do you know where to place them?

@lauraavrilmai yup! the orange is used to tone the canvas.
flesh tones? i honestly just throw on colors and combine them together. it does not necessarily have to be the exact skin tone you see on your subject. really look and study the skin color, it consists of various pigments instead of the usual peach, tan, brown, etc. you see blues, reds, greens, and you just pair them up next to each other. i layer a lot of my paintings, so you don't have to get it exactly right on the first try.
