Efficiency Rag 2-piano jam session: Tom Brier & Pat Aranda

When two ragtime piano powerhouses sit down at two pianos, what you get is some pretty wild jamming.

Efficiency Rag was composed by James Scott and published in 1917.

Tom Brier (on the grand piano) is one of the all-time most prolific composers of ragtime and a phenomenal sight-reader. Patrick Aranda is a music teacher at Chaffey College and one of the Disneyland pianists.

My camera was slightly off focus for this one. Sorry about that!

Recorded at 20 minutes after 1 a.m. on Saturday night / early Sunday in a jam session at a house known as "Skunk Hollow" during the 2008 Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival in California.
