JOE's Point of View:
School's a lot like those fishing trips I got dragged on when I was younger. My grandpa would take me, Kevin and Nick on these LONG trips on the lake. Mainly, it was boring and really pointless, but secretly we were competing, me and Kevin. He'd always seen it was a joke, like cute brotherly rivalry, but I always took it seriously, the competitions over who caught the bigger fish or the most fish. I don't know why I did, really. Probably because I knew he was better then me and I didn't like it.
Just like school. Kevin never saw the grudge I held on him. It felt wrong because he's really an amazing older brother, but I still saw him as competition. I'd see him walking in the hallways surrounded by his fellow seniors and turning the heads of all the girls. Kevin could run Birchmount High. All the teachers loved him, all the girls, all the guys. So maybe that's why he never was really competitive with me, because I was never even competition to him. He always won.
And even now, now that he's graduated from Birchmount, he's still winning. My teachers are always asking about him, the girls are always asking me to put in a good word for them and well the guys either ignore me or they only acknowledge me as "Kevin's lil Bro". I've always kinda been a loser, I guess. Even making the football team didn't really help. Nick, a mere sophomore, has more friends, girls, and experience then me.
So basically this is me:
"Joe Jonas (apparently exists, noun): Unknown Jock; Serious Eye Candy; Single (!); Virgin (!!!). Ex-benchwarmer; Younger brother of The Kevin Jonas; Older brother to Nick Jonas. Average Birchmount High student; Average Grades; Average Friends; Average guy.
e.g. He's your everyday Average Joe."
So you basically get the point. My social life is well...lacking. So after coming to the conclusion that my school life and love life were completely hopeless after the situation with Caroline at Centennial, you can imagine my surprise when I returned to school Monday, and was, well, popular.
Miranda: Hey Joe... (giggle giggle)
Me: Hello...
Jeremy: Joe, man! Come chill with us after school.
Me: We'll see.
Brittney: Hi Joe, you got plans tomorrow night? (wink)
Me: I'll call you.
Harold: Yo Jonas! Nice game Friday. (approving nod)
Me: Yeah, thank—
Greg: That was a crazy catch Joe.
Me: Than—
Jen: Joe, I'm having a party next Saturday. Come?
Me: Uh... Su—
Mr. Grant: Get to class Mr. Jonas! (whispering) Nice football game Friday.
Me: Thanks, Sir. I—
Bill: Yo Joey, you're the man!
Amelia: Cool game, Friday.
Some girl: Joe, will you walk me to class?
A guy: I love you Joe!
An awkward silence fills the hallway.
Other guy: Jonas! Party. My house. Friday. Be there.
Me: Uh—
Blond girl: Have a girlfriend Joe?
Someone: Wanna copy off my science notes Joe?
Someone else: Bud, let's hang sometime!
Person: Joe, call me?
This continued during my walk from homeroom to my 2nd period class. I was bombarded with attention from my classmates and other random students. Apparently my big game past Friday, made me cool, I guess. After 2nd period I sprint out the main doors. My 3rd period is lunch. I was surprised to find Kevin waiting beside his car. As I walked towards him I heard three people behind me call out my name. I quickened my pace and lunged into the passenger seat. Kevin quickly entered the car soon after.
"What was that all about?" he asked.
"Drive Kevin!" I yelled.
Although surprised he did as I said and pulled out of Birchmount's parking lot.
