Since Hard Rock Heroes was being aired the same night Tom Cochrane was headlining Manitoba's 3-day Sunfest rock festival in Gimli, I thought I'd take a shot at calling Sunfest on the air to see if I could get anything interesting out of it. This snippet appeared on the August 14, 1992 edition of my TV show Hard Rock Heroes. (#46) Note: I wasn't allowed to say the names of things on our cable access channel, as that could connotate promoting it. So you see me call the show "the big show in Gimli" instead of Sunfest.
lol how could he not make the 45 minute drive????????

Dude, because I have to do the show at 11:30 p.m., that's why! I can't be in two places at once! Actually, the show was taped a few days in advance, and most people knew that, so that's where the gag comes from. What you hear is the record of Life Is A Highway with a few people whooping it up in the background. I actually did go that night with a couple of people, but with the lineups, the only act we saw was Tom Cochrane.
