Vulnerable - Cook/Effy {Skins}

Summary: Cook and Effy relationship study, focusing on his love for her and inevitable heartbreak. Also a bit of dual character study focused on their insecurities and similarities and how those affect their relationship.

Vidder Notes: Okay so basically the finale just cemented my love for this couple. In the beginning montage they were adorable, fun, sexy, romantic, and still their usual bad-ass selves. I loved how he made her laugh, how she kissed him, how he carried her, and how comfortable they seemed with one another. And even though I loved all of that, what really made me love the Cook/Effy in this episode was what immediately followed the montage. We saw Cook and Effy actually *talking* to each other (complete sentences, not just longing glances), we saw him confiding in her, we saw her supporting him, we saw her worried about him, and we saw them actually relate to each other in a way that no one else has yet done on this show. I loved that when she talked to him, she wasn't being ~mysterious monosyllabic girl~, she was just being real -- Effy. Same goes for Cook, he let her see his nervousness about meeting his dad and he even brought her there specifically to meet him.

Anyways, that's what I love about this couple. They aren't a fantasy, they didn't instantly fall in love, their only form of communication is *not* angsty stares, and they don't judge one another. It's not a fairytale, but it's real. It's Effy telling him to "be careful", it's Cook wanting to take care of her and start a life together, and it's the both of them being similiar in so many ways that it's perfect and imperfect at the exact same time.

THAT'S what I like about this pairing and that's why I think they have the potential to be something so much more than what they are now. And hopefully that's what you see in this video.

Ahhhhh this is so good. You have to stop- you're making me fall in love with these two with all your great vids of them :). It's so hard to choose! Cook is probably my favorite character of the show, but I adore the chemistry between Effy and Freddie. Hopefully next series will give me a better idea of who I love. p.s. I'm ecstatic that you included the part where Cook trips on his way to his Dad's boat- absolutely adorable.

I absolutely adored Cook/Effy tbh. I thought Freddie was so boring and he doesn't have much of a personality, and if I was him I would of tried harder to get Effy. In the finale you could really see how much Cook cared for Effy, and he was the one that was there for her when the hitting Katie in the head with a rock thing happened. I want them to stay together :(
