Sure I wrote a Xmas carol. Why not? You know, Irving Berlin's White Christmas (as performed by Bing Crosby) is the best selling record of all time. Maybe a bit corny*, but hopefully it's kind of catchy, as well, because halfway catchy Xmas carols have a way of coming back year after year. In any case, the sentiment is definitely genuine (even if I don't have Bing to croon it). This is my Xmas card for 2009. Peace on Earth, good will toward man and joy to the world.
(*especially the whole bit about the child in a manger. I certainly don't buy into the nativity as anything more than a metaphor for the sun, after the solstice, beginning it's northward ascent and the reiteration of myths much older than Christianity.)
