Shingo Inao and Chikashi Miyama. Chikashi Miyama received his Ph.D (music composition) from University at Buffalo, USA. His compositions have received a second prize in SEAMUS competition, a special prize in Destellos competition. His works and papers have been accepted by ICMC 12 times, by NIME 4 times, and selected by international festivals in 17 countries. He received DAAD research grant this year and is currently working as a visiting researcher at ZKM, Karlsruhe, Germany.
Shingo Inao is a sound artist and performer. Inao received his Master degree with an honorary mention in Bauhaus University Weimar. His installations and objects were presented in Berlin, Rome, Bruessels, Vienna, USA etc. His performance with self-made instrument are seen in several festivals, for example, Transmediale (Berlin, 2010), electro mechanica (St.Petersburg, 2009) etc. He received a grant in 2011 from Yoshino Gypsum Art Foundation. He lives and works in Berlin.
"Chingo" is a duo consisting of Chikashi Miyama and Shingo Inao. They explore the interaction between body movements and sonic gestures employing self-designed sensor-based instruments "Tosso" and "Peacock."
