The winning video for the FrontRow's 2009 Show-and-Tell Video Contest is Enhanced Learning with the FrontRow System submitted by Pam Ansell, SLP, and Lisa Meneghin, Teacher, from Westwood Elementary School in Warren, Michigan.
This video did a fantastic job demonstrating the numerous benefits of the new FrontRow student microphone in the classroom by showing how the microphone:
*Makes presentations easier to hear
*Engages audiences that have lost focus
*Motivates unmotivated presenters
*Enhances presentation skillsImpacts phonemic awareness and differentiation vital to literacy
*Increases student participation
Particularly powerful was how the video showed the impact on one particular special needs student. This student was so engaged by the microphone that he participated in the lesson and interacted with the teacher and class more than he ever had before. The impact of the entire FrontRow sound system was so significant to his learning experience that by the end of the day the child chose to move his desk closer to the speaker because, in his own words, "the sound goes into the speaker so I can hear words, and I can learn better."
