This is a video of the toddlers and young children from Storytime at the library in Milpitas, California on December 12, 2006 doing "The Chicken Dance". Me and my librarian friend Lauren are up in the front of the room. I am actually holding my cellphone for the first 20 seconds of the video because I am recording it as a short film to my phone. The Chicken Dance was started by Werner Thomas in Switzerland in 1953, and was originally known as the Duck Dance or Bird Dance, I believe. It became famous in America after Norm Edlebeck who was a Wisconsin bandleader did a version of it.
We did this song for Storytime at the library on Tuesday nights in between stories that would be read to the children (ages 2-8).
Anyway, here is the video. Enjoy and please do comment!! :)
